House of Lords – new album in Sept

HOUSE OF LORDS come back with « BIG MONEY » to spend on the new album !

Frontiers Records is pleased to announce the release of the brand new HOUSE OF LORDS studio album « Big Money » on September 23rd in Europe and September 27th in North America.

Following on the heels of the successful release of « Cartesian Dreams » House of Lords are coming back with another amazingly strong release which presents again all the trademark elements of their Melodic Hard Rock sound. « I am very proud to have done four HOL CD’s with the same line-up » says singer James Christian, « I enjoy working with every one of them and plan to do many more records in the future. Mark Baker has now been on board as a co-writer for the last two CD’s I love working with him. We are totally on the same page when writing new music ».
And indeed, the new album, is truly newest addition to an already stellar catalogue of songs. “Big Money”, is well, ‘BIG’. The album starts with the trademark vocals of James Christian and crashes into a Power Rock Classic that you will not forget after the first listen, followed by in a song that Christian describes “as the band’s best work to date”: “One Man Down”. Each song has its own distinct quality as you would expect from The Lords and once again the album is full of soaring choruses, awesome guitar work and songs that grab you from the first listen and don’t let go.

The elements we use on “Big Money” are always the same for us and that is to write and record the best songs that we can” explains Christian. “We always write enough songs for more than one CD and then we pick the best songs to make up the new record. We will always be a Melodic Rock Group. It is the music that made us want to be musicians in the first place. So we will always stay true to that art!”. James teamed up again on the songwriting with long-time friend and partner Mark Baker along with the other band members Jimi Bell and BJ Zampa and Swedish producer/guitarist Tommy Denander.
House of Lords debuted in 1989 with the release of the self-titled album, a record which is still regarded as one of the best Arena Rock releases of the 80’s. The colossal sound, the soaring vocals of James Christian and instrumental capabilities of the band (which featured ex Angel and Giuffria Gregg Giuffria, along with such luminaries as Lanny Cordola, Chuck Wright and Ken Mary), reminiscent of such frontrunners as Whitesnake, Deep Purple and Van Halen, immediately brought the band to the attention of the media and fans.
With their sophomore release entitled "Sahara", House of Lords gained considerable chart success with their cover version of Blind Faith’s "Can’t Find My Way Home". After a tour with Nelson in 1991, the group disbanded, eventually coming back with a new lineup (only featuring original members Giuffria and Christian) in 1992 with "Demon’s Down". With the change of the musical climate, House of Lords went into hibernation, until the original lineup came back together in 2000, releasing of the controversial "Power and the Myth" an album which featured a sound leaning more towards Progressive Hard Rock with 70’s rock influences.
After a short European tour, singer James Christian decided to go back to the trademark Arena Rock sound of House Of Lords, putting together a new line-up with the blessing of founding member Gregg Giuffria, who opted out right before the release of "Power and the Myth". New members Jimi Bell on guitars, B.J. Zampa on drums and Chris McCarvill on bass supplied a true powerhouse sound to the fifth studio album "World Upside Down", a record which caused a real stir in the Hard Rock and Melodic Rock scene and was followed up by the equally impressive "Come to My Kingdom" and “Cartesian Dreams”
The new album “Big Money” includes the following tracks: Big Money, One Man Down, First To Cry, Someday When, Searchin’, Livin’ In A Dream World, The Next Time I Hold You, Run For Your Life, Hologram, Seven, Once Twice, Blood. Also included: multimedia bonus videoclip “Someday When”.

2010 was a significant year in Jorn’s career. Besides releasing a tribute album to his hero Ronnie James Dio, Jorn was invited to perform, together with Glenn Hughes, with Heaven & Hell on their final concert, at the High Voltage Festival in Victoria Park, London.
Just a few weeks earlier Jorn appeared at the Sweden Rock Festival, in Sölvesborg and blew the crowd of more than 25,000 fans away. “The special thing with “Live in Black” is that it captures a very rough, uncut and spontaneous moment in the bands history” tells Jorn Lande. “It was a hectic day with many interviews and several tv appearances and I also had to do a short speech and statement regarding the great Ronnie James Dio’s untimely passing a few weeks earlier. The whole festival became in the spirit of Ronnie, and it was very moving to see everyone there, including the artists honoring his memory” recalls the Norwegian singer.
A new original Jorn album is already in the works and scheduled for an early 2012 release, but till then Jorn fans can enjoy the pure and epic concert performance of "Live in Black". You want Jorn and with ”Live In Black” they bring it to you: nothing compromised, modernized or fiddled with!

Trillium featuring Amanda Somerville

Frontiers Records is excited to present a new and interesting musical project called TRILLIUM which features the talents of the American singer and songwriter Amanda Somerville.
Mostly known for her catalogue of projects, studio work, guest appearances and live shows garnered to date with bands like AVANTASIA, KAMELOT and EPICA, her most recent endeavors include touring with renowned artist Ian Gillan (DEEP PURPLE) and a duet album entitled Kiske-Somerville with metal legend Michael Kiske (HELLOWEEN).

TRILLIUM is however something new, exciting and very diverse for Amanda, who describes it “more like an expedition with my musical family to explore and celebrate the metamorphosis I’ve gone through as an artist over the past several years. Quite simply, it’s my new baby”.
The TRILLIUM name came about since it “symbolizes a trinity because things are always showing up in 3s in my environment and there are a number of triads occurring in this project, as well” tells Amanda. “The name of the album, "Alloy," is symbolic and metaphorical. An alloy is a substance composed of two or more metals, or of a metal or metals combined with a nonmetal, intimately mixed. It also means standard; quality; fineness and is an admixture, as of good with evil. I’m a Pisces, so I’m all about duality and combining known elements – sometimes opposing each other – to create something different. Though I’ve been working myself further and further into the metal scene, I still always feel the need to add an extra element to make it shine, bling, stand out”.
Musically TRILLIUM is going to be a hybrid of rock and metal: it’s riffy, has a heavy hand instrumentally and is quite different from anything Amanda has worked on so far. The creative team on the album includes the acclaimed Sascha Paeth & Miro (KAMELOT, AVANTASIA, EPICA, AFTER FOREVER, ANGRA etc.) on production, songwriting and performances with the participation of Sander Gommans (ex After Forever) and also features Jorn Lande on a very special duet with Amanda.
Amanda’s sound is eclectic yet particular, sweet yet raw and commercial yet conventionally-challenged. Singer-songwriter metal with bling. Think Annie Lennox, Doro, Rob Zombie and Sade thrown into a blender and whipped into a frothy concoction.
TRILLIUM debut album “Alloy” will be released worldwide on Frontiers Records in the fall 2011. Watch out for those razor blades. Prosit!

XorigiN release debut in August

Hailing from Scandinavia, XorigiN is the newest addition to the Frontiers Records ever expanding roster of artists and will release their debut album entitled “State of the Art” on August 23rd in North America and August 26th in Europe.

The band was originally named Orange Crush and was formed in Los Angeles in 1999, while the members where studying music at the Musicians Institute. The founding members Johannes Stole (vocals) and Daniel Palmqvist (guitar) later returned to their home countries of Norway and Sweden and continued collaborating on various projects in between their other engagements. Johannes is currently a sought after session singer/artist in Oslo, Norway and has released 2 critically acclaimed albums with progressive rock band Slaves To Fashion. Daniel has released a well received instrumental solo album, appeared as a session guitarist on a number of albums and is the former guitarist for the band The Murder Of My Sweet

Melodic hard rock with a modern edge would be a fitting description of XorigiN’s music. Musically they draw on influences such as Toto, Giant, Journey and Yes (“90125”/”Big Generator” era) to name a few, but still keeping their own personal sound and musical identity intact. Strong melodies, well crafted songs and catchy vocal arrangements are their trademark. “It is our version of what AOR should sound like, catchy melodic tunes with rocking guitars and big hooks!”, says Johannes, “Our musical influences definitely shine through, but there’s also something uniquely ours mixed in there as well” adds Daniel.
State of the Art” was produced by Daniel Flores (Mind’s Eye, The Murder of My Sweet) and promises to put the band on the radar of all the classic Melodic Rock fans! You will certainly hear more from these guys “We’re in this for the long run and are already writing for the next album” says Stole while Palmqvist adds “Hopefully the album will be well received and we certainly have a wish to take these songs to the stage”.
State of the Art” includes the following songs
Can´t Keep Running; Crying For You; In The Blink Of An Eye; Too Late; Gina; This Is It; The One For Me; Said And Done; Matters To The Heart; What Love Is All About; Mend My Heart. Includes bonus videoclip Can’t Keep Running.

Toby Hitchcock release set for August

Frontiers Records is pleased to announce the release of Toby Hitchcock’s debut solo album « Mercury’s Down » on August 23rd in North America and August 26th in Europe.

Toby Hitchcock name and abilities came to the attention of Melodic Rock fans when former Survivor founding member Jim Peterik chose him as the lead singer for the band that would mark his return on the scene: Pride of Lions.
With Pride of Lions, Toby had the chance to sing on three studio albums which are considered as true classic among the fans. Toby also appeared live fronting the band and his performances at the Lokerse Feesten in Belgium and at the United Forces of Rock in Germany created a vast consensus about his amazing abilities. Often compared to Bobby Kimball (Toto), Jimi Jamison (Survivor) or Lou Gramm (Foreigner), Hitchockc’s voice has the depth, the feeling and the extension of each of them, still keeping his own identity and trademark.
While Pride of Lions took a small hiatus (but they are already preparing their full comeback album for 2012), Toby took the chance to hook up, under suggestion from Frontiers Records President Serafino Perugino, with the Swedish songwriter and producer Erik Martensson (Eclipse), whose name came to prominence when he wrote and produced the very popular W.E.T. album which saw the return of singer Jeff Scott Soto to Melodic Rock.
Erik’s abilities impressed so much Toby that another marriage made in AOR Heaven could not be avoided! Consequently Erik started to write another bunch of amazing songs which have been sung with ability and passion by Toby. “I feel really great about this album release and I am looking forward to it. I can’t wait for people to listen and hopefully enjoy the music that Erik and I put our hearts into. I love every song on the album. Every song is filled with passion and emotion. They are all amazing!” says Toby.

« Mercury’s Down » shows and carves in stone the unbelievable talent of two young guns. Toby is definitely a top vocalist and Erik songwriting and producing abilities keep getting better and better. There is no reason to miss this record, which promises to be easily one of the top Melodic Rock debuts of the year !
« Mercury’s Down » includes the following songs:
This Is The Moment; Strong Enough; How To Stop; Let Go; One Day I’ll Stop Loving You; I Should Have Said; If It’s To Be (It’s Up To Me); Just Say Goodbye; Summer Nights In Cabo; Tear Down The Barricades; A Different Drum; Mercury’s Down. Includes bonus videoclip: This Is The Moment.
You can enjoy the album EPK following the link below : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wp5p45t735A
The first single « This is the Moment » can be exclusively listened in streaming on the Frontiers webradio on : www.frontiers.it/webradio

Work of Art release set for August

Frontiers Records is pleased to announce the release of the anticipated second album from the swedish aces of melodic rock WORK OF ART « In Progress » on August 23rd in North America and August 26th in Europe.

Following the much acclaimed debut record « Art Work », WORK OF ART have not been resting on laurels. While main songwriter and guitarist Robert Sall contributed heavily to the success of the W.E.T. project with Jeff Scott Soto and Erik Martensson and singer Lars Safsund kept busy singing on other projects, WORK OF ART have been working hard to create the foundations of another amazing piece of music. « A lot of blood, sweat & tears went into the making of this album and I think it shows. Maybe we didn’t change the formula all that much» tells Robert Sall, «but we certainly made sure to write, perform and produce at our very best and I think we’ve taken a huge step forward on In Progress ».

And in reality “In Progress” gives the Melodic Rock fans exactly what they’re looking for, with songs that stick in the ears from the first second and amazing musical licks. The new album shows three musicians who have matured a lot their abilities and gel together in a very natural way, presenting a sound which – still encompassing different influences – is now defined and recognizable as their own.
This time we are definitely planning to play live in support of this record and we’re set up for our live debut so, the wheels are in motion!” promises Sall. So watch out for further news from the Swedish rockers!

The first single “The Great Fall” will be exclusively distributed in Sweden through Sweden Rock Magazine in the issue that will hit the streets on July 19th. This special release will include two exclusive acoustic bonus tracks (unavailable elsewhere) : « Once Again » and « Until You Believe ».
In Progress” will include the following songs: The Rain; Nature Of The Game; Once Again; Never Love Again; Eye Of The Storm; Until You Believe; The Great Fall; Call On Me; Emelie; Fall Down; Castaway; One Step Away. Includes bonus videoclip: The Great Fall.
